World Vegan Day 2010

According to WikiPedia :

World Vegan Day is an annual event celebrated on 1 November, by vegans around the world. The Day was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then President & Chair of The Vegan Society UK.

But what is its relevance to me ?
Firstly, it’s an amazing coincidence that it’s my birthday ! There’s nothing better than having day that means so much to me (World Vegan Day) happens to be the same day that should have so much relevance to my existence.
Secondly, it’s the start of Vegan Mofo 2010. What can be better than a whole month when vegans worldwide collaborate in showing how easy it is to be a vegan and how proud we are in doing so.
Finally, from an activism point of view it’s these kinds of initiatives that will bring more attention to why we are vegans in the first place and every person that learns more about veganism because of such an initiative is just one more step in the right direction.
