{"id":266,"date":"2010-11-24T22:32:04","date_gmt":"2010-11-24T22:32:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/justiceforanimals.co.za\/vabackup\/?p=266"},"modified":"2010-11-24T22:32:04","modified_gmt":"2010-11-24T22:32:04","slug":"carrot-sambal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/vegananimal.nl\/?p=266","title":{"rendered":"Carrot Sambal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Vegan Mofo 2010 &#8211; Day 24<\/strong><br \/>\nThere&#8217;s nothing nicer than a good carrot sambal (or pickled carrot salad) to serve with a nice curry.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/justiceforanimals.co.za\/vabackup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/carrot_sambal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-267\" title=\"carrot sambal\" src=\"https:\/\/justiceforanimals.co.za\/vabackup\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/carrot_sambal.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"http:\/\/vegananimal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/carrot_sambal.jpg 600w, http:\/\/vegananimal.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/carrot_sambal-300x270.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s also very easy to make.<br \/>\nTake 2 large carrots and grate finely.<br \/>\nAdd 1\/2 teaspoon of salt per cup of carrot.<br \/>\nAdd 1\/4 teaspoon of sugar per cup of carrot.<br \/>\nAdd some finely sliced fresh red cayenne or birds eye chilli (the volume will depend on how hot you like it &#8211; try one and test the heat)<br \/>\n1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar per cup of carrot.<br \/>\nMix all of the ingredients well with a fork and then cover for 30 &#8211; 40 minutes. This will allow the carrots to sweat and the rest of the flavours to mix.
